Someday I will make this

Remember the dachshund sweater I posted about a few weeks ago? Well the adorable dog modeling that sweater, Crush, has broken her leg and it's requiring expensive medical attention. Of course I bought. What? No, I can't knit this. Are you kidding me? I haven't even made a plain sweater yet, much less one with multiple colors! In fact, I haven't made anything with multiple colors. Maybe by the time I figure it out I'll have a niece or nephew to knit for.

Much to do

....but I don't wanna.

There are so many things I need to do today.

• Laundry
• Groceries
• Target
• Gym
• Cleaning the bathroom (seriously, that one is my nemesis and never goes away)
• Unload the dishwasher
• Make calls about selling Krispy Kreme donuts as a fundraiser

But I am tired. Yesterday's 8 miles kicked my butt. My entire body hurts. Maybe I'll do what has become a Sunday pattern (which is why nothing is ever getting done) and stay in my pajamas all day while I watch television and nap off and on.

There is a little brown dog sitting behind me staring a hole in my shoulder. I suppose that means I need to get dressed and take her for a walk.

Rain is a good thing

I've been on a country music kick for a couple of months and a few weeks ago, for some reason, I was flipping channels on the tv and landed on a station showing country music videos. This video for a song by Luke Ryan came on. Of course, I watched it because Luke is H.O.T hot. But the song got under my skin and now I have to listen to it like 5 times a day. It's a sickness. Somebody help me. When I was walking 8 miles by myself the chorus was stuck on repeat in my head. If I start saying "warsh" you have my permission to slap me.

Dating

Yeah, so I've started dating again.

I hate it just a little bit. 

It's nerve wracking and stressful and it freaks me out.

But a good first kiss....makes it all worth it.

It's fresh strawberry season!

The strawberry farm near my house opened yesterday so on my way home for lunch today I stopped and bought a pound. Delicious! I'll have to go back this weekend and pick my own but today, in my work clothes, was not the day.

Smart Cat

10 miles

This morning I ran 10 miles.

Okay, so I didn't actually run all of them but you know what I mean. Running did occur. I was slow but I don't feel like dying now and that is a good thing. However, I do feel the need for a nap.

Embroidered cropped pants at Talbots. Also available in a skirt! Or Bermuda shorts. I live on the East coast now (well, nearly). I could pull this look off, right? Hopefully they will go on sale soon.

Yes, I know I'm many months early. But what better way to celebrate the month of October but by one of my favorite stores EVER opening in Raleigh? That's right, The Container Store is finally opening a location in North Carolina. I am so freaking excited. Seriously. You have no idea.

It's pine tree pollen season again. There is a fine layer of yellow dust all over everything. It's disgusting.

Lulu Strikes Again

I came home after running some errands to find this book in the middle of the floor and shreds of the cover all around. Thank goodness it was one of my books and not the library's! For shame, Lulu! She knew she was in trouble too because she didn't come out from under the covers.

Beautiful day

It's another beautiful day here in North Carolina. I'm off work because of Good Friday and after staying up until the wee hours of the morning doing absolutely nothing I'm trying to motivate myself to do something. But it's much more relaxing to lie on the floor in the sun. Now I understand why Lulu does it all the time.

From the bedroom, where Lulu is asleep on my bed, I hear:

Lulu is dreaming. About what I wonder. Hopefully not like the dream I had this morning where I was stuck wandering around Ikea and then ate a shrimp taco. No, I think she is dreaming about the bunny she tried to chase the other night. Curse her leash and it's 8 foot length. She would have had it otherwise, she's certain. Was is the Easter bunny?

6 Mile Report

This morning I did my first 6 mile training and I completed it in 1 hour and 43 minutes. Not too bad considering that I have not exercised in nearly two weeks due to being ill. Also, I ran quite a bit. My friend, Trisha, was there was to push me to run to the next tree, next cement sewer thing, bridge, or whatever. Now I only want to die a little bit.

Before I left the house this morning I reserved a copy of New Moon via Redbox so that I would have something to look forward to this evening. It's so totally dorky how excited I was to hobble up to that machine to get the movie.

Confession

Here's where you find out I might be just a little bit nuts. So you know I'm doing the San Diego Rock 'n' Roll 1/2 marathon....but what you don't know is that 3 weeks later I'm also doing the Seattle Rock 'n' Roll 1/2 marathon. That's right, this couch potato is doing a marathon in June. BECAUSE I AM CRAZY.

It's all my sister's fault. We decided to go on a trip together, picked Seattle as our destination, and somehow my suggestion of "hey, let's do a 5k while we're there" turned into doing a 1/2 marathon. Then I went to the Team in Training info meeting with my friend and decided that I could raise $3k for San Diego but $5k for Seattle was daunting.

By doing two Rock 'n' Roll races in the same year I am going to get this super awesome medal. I think I will wear it around my neck every day, like Flava Flav and his clock.

Someone has a new boyfriend

Yesterday was such a pretty day that Lulu and I went to the park to meet up with Baxter and his mom & dad. Baxter is very handsome and I think Lulu has a little bit of a crush. We all had a great time, walking around the park and getting to know each other. Hopefully, we will be able to do it again soon.

On the porch

Spring forward! It's a beautiful day here, which means the porch can be opened up for Lulu. She got tired of me trying to take her photo and the next set of pictures occurred. The lighting is terrible but I love them.
